Johnson King named PR Company of the Year

Johnson King took top honours at last night’s SC Magazine Awards Europe 2008 where it was named “Best PR Company” for its work with longstanding client, Sophos.

In mid-2007, when the Facebook craze was at its height, Johnson King’s campaign highlighted the need for users to think twice before posting confidential personal information on social networking sites.

As a result, a small plastic frog called Freddi Staur (an anagram of ‘ID fraudster’) was catapulted into the media spotlight, starring on BBC Breakfast and Channel 4 News, and in the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal and many more business nationals.

The SC Magazine Awards Europe are widely considered to be the most prestigious awards programme in the information security industry. Now in their thirteenth year, the Awards have a long-standing tradition of promoting excellence.
